 Dr. Jeri Parris Perkins, Pastor

Dr. Jeri Parris Perkins
- Pastor

Email: fppastor@bellsouth.net

Greetings in Christ! I am Dr. Jeri Parris Perkins and I have had the privilege of serving as pastor and head of staff at First Presbyterian Church of Hartsville since May of 2001. I grew up in the Presbyterian Church and have been responding in various ways to a call to ministry that came to me when I was 10 years old.

I was educated at Presbyterian College, Columbia Theological Seminary, and McCormick Theological Seminary. I have studied abroad at the University of Glasgow, in Scotland and at the United Theological College of the West Indies, in Kingston, Jamaica.
I continue to be educated day by day by the tremendous members of this congregation and by my twelve year old, Catherine.

I have had the opportunity to serve small, medium, and large membership churches as well as chaplain to one of our denomination's children's homes and two of our retirement homes. I served as adjunct faculty in the psychology and religion departments at Presbyterian College. I have been and am now very committed to working on presbytery, synod, and General Assembly levels of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

I am grateful to the Holy Spirit who brought me here, who sustains me each day, and who is guiding and comforting us as we seek to answer the call to be a vital part of the Body of Jesus Christ in Hartsville and beyond. First Presbyterian Church of Hartsville is a growing, nurturing, serving congregation of committed Christians. I hope you will feel called to visit with us and join with us as we seek to worship and serve God.
